“Sentimental Journey” was written by saxophonist and big band leader Les Brown, along with Bud Green and Ben Homer, in 1944.  They recorded it in 1945, with Doris Day providing the lead vocals.  Its release coincided with the end of World War II, and quickly became the unofficial homecoming theme for soldiers returning from the war.   It shot up to #1 on the Billboard charts, and remained in the top 10 for a record 9 months. Today it remains on the Top 100 Songs list by Rolling Stone Magazine.   It has become a jazz standard, and been recorded by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Glen Miller, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Judy Collins, Willie Nelson, and the Carpenters.

This is a 2-part arrangement, and the melody part requires the 1+ fret.
