| Tull now has teaching CDs
available for selected tunes/arrangements. Each CD contains
approximately 60 minutes of instruction, taking the student through
the tunes step by step, note by note, chord by chord, gradually
working up speed, and culminating with "play along" tracks at the
end. Students learn new techniques and new tunes at the same time.
It's like having a workshop instructor in your living room - except
that you can hit "rewind" or "repeat" for those tricky sections!

Autumn Leaves French poet Jacques Prevert wrote the lyrics to "Les Feuilles Mortes ” (The Dead Leaves) in 1945 for the film "Les Portes da la Nuit". It was set to music by Joseph Kosma. Five years later, American lyricist Johnny Mercer adapted the French lyrics to English as "Autumn Leaves", and soon after, the English version was recorded by Edith Piaf, Jo Stafford, Bing Crosby, Artie Shaw, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, and Louis Armstrong, among others. It has also become a jazz standard, with signature versions by Miles Davis, Stephane Grapelli, Wynton Marselis, and Stan Getz. Its minor key chord progression has a haunting quality that reflects the lyrics about sadness and loss at summer's end.This D-A-d arrangement has 2 parts - the melody, and a backup/counter-melody part. The 70-minute CD is divided up into individual tracks covering small sections of each part in detail. The tune is taught measure by measure, note by note, chord by chord, with detailed instructions on fingering and other playing techniques. The CD culminates with a play-along track that combines both parts.
